The highly anticipated A24 documentary You Can See Everything was finally released in October 2026. The documentary focuses on former biotech entrepreneur Elizabeth Holmes and her transition from life outside to federal custody. For the unversed, Elizabeth was known for founding Theranos after leaving Stanford and promising a breakthrough in blood-testing technology. She later faced a high-profile federal trial over investor fraud.
The buzz surrounding You Can See Everything has also put the focus on Elizabeth Holmes’ partner, Billy Evans. This is especially the case after his unexpected nude scene in the Nathan Fielder documentary.
Elizabeth Holmes’ partner, Billy Evans, speaks out about his nude scene in You Can See Everything
Elizabeth Holmes’ partner, Billy Evans, is featured alongside her in the new documentary directed by Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim. In one particular scene, Billy appears full frontal in the shower. It initially began with Billy working out in the gym.
Soon, he is shown in the shower at home, where an elongated shot pans to Billy’s body. When he gets out of the shower after wrapping a towel around his waist, he almost bumps into Nathan, who was standing right outside the bathroom.
During an “Ask me anything” session on November 3, 2026, a user on X (formerly Twitter) questioned Billy about the shower scene. The tweet read:
“They forced themselves into the shower with you, or they just started filming, and you didn’t tell them to stop?”
While replying to the user, Billy Evans shared an article published by PEOPLE, which quoted sources saying that he felt “violated” because of the scene. He then simply wrote, “Trust the ‘sources.’”
Lance Oppenheim had previously claimed that Billy had willingly taken his clothes off for the camera. According to him, it seemed “like he really had something he wanted to show us and to the world.”
Lance also revealed that the scene had unfolded rather unexpectedly after he accompanied Billy to the gym. He said that Billy had already undressed and stepped into the shower before he had a chance to respond. Notably, the nude scene had contributed to the film’s R rating.
A source later told PEOPLE that, contrary to what Lance said, the shower scene was not Billy’s idea. They claimed that he only agreed to it with an understanding that the scene would be kept PG. They added:
“The shower scene wasn’t Billy’s idea. He only agreed to it with an understanding they would keep it PG. Finding out otherwise via media coverage would be unsettling for anyone, to say the least. It’s a violation of trust and exploiting that trust for shock value.”
Another insider said that Billy was told the nudity would be cut from You Can See Everything. They allegedly told Billy, “It would not make the final cut for legal reasons.”
For the documentary, Billy and Elizabeth Holmes had given Nathan and Lance extensive access to their private lives in the months leading up to the former biotech entrepreneur beginning her prison sentence in May 2023. The couple had even invited the directors to move into their guest house to help them document their daily lives more closely. But despite everything, Billy and Elizabeth had no say in the film’s final cut. A source said:
“They were filming every element of Billy and Elizabeth’s life. There are thousands of hours of footage that didn’t make the cut. What was shown, what was omitted, was the choice of the filmmaker.”
This goes to show that the directors indeed played a part in keeping Billy’s nude shower scene in the film.
