Establish Green Steel Plant in Bayyaram: Revanth Reddy to Centre

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Saturday urged Union Minister for Steel and Heavy Industries H.D. Kumaraswamy to set up a Green Steel Plant in Bayyaram. He said that establishing a Green Steel Plant would not only reduce the shortage of steel but also benefit the environment.

Revanth Reddy met Kumaraswamy and Minister of State for Steel Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma in Delhi on Saturday morning. The Chief Minister explained to the Union Ministers the industrial proposals prepared as part of the Telangana Rising–2047 Vision.

The Chief Minister requested the Union Ministers to establish a steel recycling industry in Telangana using scrap from old vehicles. He explained to the Union Ministers that, due to the availability of technology, heavy industries, and favorable conditions for industrial production, Hyderabad could become a hub for achieving the country’s industrial production targets.

Revanth Reddy also requested Ministers Kumaraswamy and Srinivasa Varma to establish a Green Steel Cluster in Hyderabad using hydrogen technology, industries for manufacturing products needed for the automobile and defense sectors, and an EV battery manufacturing center in view of the rapidly increasing purchases of electric vehicles.

He also appealed to the Union Ministers to set up a special park for manufacturing advanced equipment such as machine tools and robotics. With the goal of making Hyderabad a pollution-free city by 2034, Revanth Reddy requested support in converting vehicles to EVs. He also requested the Union Ministers to establish national-level institutions in Hyderabad to teach the skills required for modern industries.
