Who is Kapil Sahu?
Kapil Sahu, the architect of Vijay and TVK’s victory is an ex-IPAC (Indian Political Action Committe) strategist, who hones over a decade of experience in campaign planning, narrative setting, strategic consulting, data analysis, etc.
He left Prashant Kishore’s I-PAC, along with 12 of his colleagues to start an independent organisation. He had proved his mettle through his campaigns supporting the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF), among others.
Kapil has earned his big break, delivering results amid controversies including a stampede at a TVK rally in Karur, that killed 41 and left over 80 injured, early on in the campaigning phase. Recently, Vijay had also caught up in controversies regarding his personal life, with his long term wife filing for divorce, over alleged extra marital affairs of Vijay with a fellow Tamil actress. TVK’s landslide victory amid all these prove that the strategies by Kapil and his team has made Vijay capable of turning controversies into ploys to accelerate popularity and at the end, political gain.
PK’s old video goes viral after TVK’s victory
A year old video of Prashant Kishore predicting Vijay’s victory has resurfaced and has gone viral, following the Tamil Nadu state election results on Monday. Vijay had earlier appointed Prashant Kishore and his IPAC as TVK’s chief poll strategy consultant.
Addressing TVK supporters, Prashant Kishore is seen saying “Dhoni is the more popular in Tamil Nadu than Prashant Kishore, but no mistake, next years, when I help you win, I will be taking over Dhoni in popularity.”
