Entrepreneur and model Brittany Boltinhouse was in the limelight a few days back after she was stripped of her Miss North Carolina title. Brittany was crowned Miss North Carolina USA on June 28, 2026, but on August 5, 2026, the title was taken away from her. The news was confirmed by the chairman and CEO of Miss USA and Miss Teen USA, Thom Brodeur. But the circumstances leading to the dethroning have not yet been revealed.
Brittany Boltinhouse addressed the report of her dethroning
Now, Brittany Boltinhouse spoke about it as she subtly hinted at the reason behind it. While speaking with Carolina Journal editor-in-chief Donna King, Brittany was asked whether her ‘conservative political and social values’ were the reason behind her dethroning, to which she calmly replied:
“I’m proud of my standards. I’m a proud conservative woman, but a Christian woman. I’m a God-fearing woman.”

Going further in the interview, Brittany revealed that she was not allowed to speak about what led to her losing the title as she had signed an agreement with a “confidentiality clause”. However, she affirmed that it was rather a relief for her as she is at ‘peace’. In her words:
“I’m very much at peace, and I’m actually glad it happened to me and not some other young lady that, you know, maybe just probably wouldn’t make it through what I’m going through right now. The scrutiny, my family behind it as well. But I will say that I’m very much at peace and I see the light at the end of the tunnel and I know who I am and I know what I can become.”
Later, in the same interview, King asked Brittany whether she felt that one’s beliefs could act as a hindrance to a beauty pageant. Elaborating on the same, Brittany revealed that having ‘conservative thoughts’ is a constitutional right. She stated that one’s thoughts are not just restricted to a single beauty pageant and retorted, “All I can say is that I think and believe that my title was ripped from me because of my beliefs.”
Why was Brittany Boltinhouse stripped of her Miss North Carolina USA title within a month?
Brittany Boltinhouse was crowned on June 28, 2026, but within a month, her title was taken back on August 5, 2026. Pageant organisers from A Blaize Productions and the Miss USA Organisation shared that “this decision was not made lightly” and “followed a thorough review.” In the initial post announcing the news, Brodeur did not specify the conduct that led to the decision. However, he wrote that the organisation “does not tolerate racism, homophobia, transphobia nor language that strips any person of their dignity.”

According to an official statement shared by the organisations, women like Brittany, who become the face of a state or country in the field of fashion, have certain responsibilities to uphold. As the 27-year-old allegedly failed to do so, she has been stripped of her title. A part of the statement could be read as:
“A title here isn’t a trinket. It is a position of trust, extended by an organisation and accepted by a woman who agrees to carry a standard in public. When that standard is broken, the title cannot continue as though nothing happened.”
