Formula One will continue racing in São Paulo until at least 2035, having announced a five-year contract extension with the traditional host.
The Autódromo José Carlos Pace in Interlagos first held F1 in 1973. On Sunday, the top racing series will take place for the 53rd time in Brazil, a country that has produced three world champions.

“Brazil is an important part of Formula 1’s history and our future, and I am delighted that this five-year extension will see us continue racing in São Paulo until 2035,” F1 chief executive Stefano Domenicali said in a statement on Saturday.
“The passion of our Brazilian fans is extraordinary, and every time we return to Interlagos we feel their energy in the grandstands and in the city of São Paulo.”
Brazil now boasts two regular drivers in Formula One – Gabriel Bortoleto (Audi) and Rafael Camara (Haas).
Austria and Miami have the longest contracts of all F1 venues, both running until 2041.
