Yankees legend Alex Rodriguez was all smiles while on Celebrity Row at Madison Square Garden during Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals Thursday night.
Just a few hours earlier, the news of his split from longtime girlfriend Jaclyn Cordeiro made waves, as the fitness entrepreneur shared with TMZ that they mutually parted ways after more than three years together.
Rodriguez, co-owner of the Minnesota Timberwolves, posed for a photo with singer Jon Bon Jovi during the second quarter of the Knicks’ 109-93 win over the Cavaliers.
Rodriguez, who appeared to attend the game solo, was a part of a star-studded Celebrity Row, which included tennis legend John McEnroe, actress Mariska Hargitay, actor Timothee Chalamet and rapper Fat Joe.
The 2009 World Series champ and Cordeiro, who were first linked in 2022, broke up about two months before she made it public, a source close to the former MLB star told TMZ.
The source added that there is nothing but mutual respect between them.
“To clarify, Alex and I are currently taking some time apart but there continues to be mutual love, care, and deep respect between us and for our families,” Cordeiro said. “We remain supportive of one another, and there is absolutely no animosity, drama, or negative story here.
“I’m also navigating a serious health matter involving a family member at this time, so my focus is understandably there. Alex and I continue to be very close, and out of respect for everyone involved especially our daughters and loved ones I’d kindly ask that any reporting reflects the compassion and privacy this situation deserves.”
Rodriguez went public with their relationship with an Instagram post in December 2022.
Before that, Rodriguez and his ex Jennifer Lopez called off their engagement in 2021.
