Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan extended his greetings to the people on the occasion of World Tourism Day and described Andhra Pradesh as a destination that offers a journey through nature, spirituality, heritage and living culture.
Pawan Kalyan said Andhra Pradesh is a land of extraordinary diversity, from the breathtaking valleys of Araku in Uttarandhra and the sacred hills of Tirumala to its magnificent coastline and the ever-flowing Godavari. He said the state offers a wide range of unique experiences waiting to be discovered by visitors from across the world.
He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India was strengthening its tourism sector through better connectivity, destination development, spiritual and heritage infrastructure, and new opportunities for travellers and local communities.
The Modified UDAN initiative and various tourism programmes of the Union government were further strengthening the foundations of a more connected and vibrant tourism ecosystem, he said.
Pawan Kalyan said the coalition government in Andhra Pradesh has been putting all its efforts to unlock the state’s immense tourism potential, with a focus on infrastructure, investment, destination development and global promotion, under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
He said the recognition received by Andhra Pradesh as the “Best Tourism Promotion State” at the GTM Tourism Awards 2026 in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, was an encouraging recognition of these efforts and strengthened the state’s resolve to take its tourism story to the world.
“On World Tourism Day, let us preserve our natural and cultural treasures, embrace technology and innovation, create opportunities for our people, and build an Andhra Pradesh that the world will want to discover, experience and remember,” he said.
Pawan Kalyan also extended his wishes to “Godavari Calls”, being organised in Rajahmundry on September 27 as part of the World Tourism Day celebrations. He said the initiative would showcase the splendour of the Godavari region and the immense tourism potential of Andhra Pradesh.
