Former Made In Chelsea star Georgia Toffolo has made a stark admission to how hard it has been to try to feel at home in Scotland after her marriage to James Watt

Georgia Toffolo has admitted her move to Scotland has been harder than expected. The former Made In Chelsea star, 32, headed north of the border with her Scottish husband, James Watt.

And she confessed she is struggling to find friends in her new home. She upped and left her comforts in Chelsea for life over 500 miles away and said the move has been slightly socially isolating for her up to now.

Sharing an update with her TikTok followers, the former I’m A Celebrity star said: “I haven’t spoken about this enough.

“Obviously we don’t live here full-time but part of the time for three years now and I’ve only made one friend!”

She went on: “I’m quite embarrassed about it which is why I don’t really talk about it – that is the truth.”

Explaining she has made just “one proper girlfriend” in Scotland, she confessed she had actually met her originally in a nightclub in Chelsea. “So actually I haven’t made any friends in three years if we’re being honest,” she said.

Opening up further on the experience to date, she said went on: “I just wanted to make the point that actually there’s loads of content about moving to a different country or going somewhere or starting a new life and making loads of friends [but] that has not been my reality at all.

“I don’t think there should be any like shame around it but I just think it’s quite funny to talk about because it’s like I just think everyone would think someone like me would move to a different country and make a big friendship group. I just haven’t done it!”

She continued: “It’s only recently that I’ve thought ‘oh it’s because I do have a lot of free time up here which I don’t have in London…’

“But anyway I just thought it was funny to say there’s loads of content out there being like ‘go out there, make the friends’ when actually it’s really really hard to make new friends.

“Particularly if you don’t have a job locally, you don’t have children locally… biologically. Moving to another country can actually be quite tricky…”

She previously admitted moving to Scotland had made her change her style. ““Before I met James, my wardrobe was 75 per cent going out stuff, 25 per cent casual, because I lived in central London and I was just generally quite dressy,” she told the Sun in 2024.

“Now that we’ve really split ourselves between Scotland and London, my fashion has become way more elevated cool but casual. I’ve still got my beautiful things, and we’re so fortunate. I go to so many lovely places.

“But I’m concentrating on more everyday wear whereas before it was like real showcase luxury.”
