New Delhi: A horrifying crime has come to light in Ghaziabad, where a seven-year-old girl was lured away, gang-raped, and brutally murdered before her body was dumped inside the basement of a building under construction. The police have arrested two individuals in connection with the crime, including a 16-year-old juvenile who is suspected of orchestrating the entire plot.
The victim, the daughter of migrant laborers from Bihar, went missing on Friday evening around 7:30 PM while playing near the construction site where her parents worked. Security footage recovered from the area revealed a chilling sequence of events: the two suspects allegedly lured the child inside the premises by offering her snacks and cold drinks.
When the child failed to return, her panicked family and local residents launched a frantic four-hour search. The breakthrough came around 12:30 AM on Saturday under unusual circumstances. After a security guard mentioned hearing a solitary cry from the dark, under-construction structure, the family entered to investigate. They were accompanied by a local stray dog. The animal ran ahead into the basement and stood completely still, guiding the parents directly to where their daughter’s body had been hidden.
According to police officials, the horrific assault took place on the third floor of the building. The perpetrators then threw the child’s body from the upper floor into the basement in a desperate attempt to cover their tracks and hide their identities.
Ghaziabad Police have confirmed that the 22-year-old co-suspect has been jailed, while the 16-year-old mastermind has been taken into juvenile custody. Case files have been registered against both individuals under strict sections of the law, including rape, murder, and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
