The indefinite strike called by Gig and Platform workers in Telangana from tomorrow has been called off following talks between Telangana government and gig workers union at the Secretariat on Friday.
Labour Minister Dr. G. Vivek Venkatswamy assured gig workers that the Telangana government is committed to protecting their rights and implementing the Telangana Gig Workers Welfare Act, 2026 at the earliest. He said the implementation guidelines would be issued soon and promised resolution of all pending demands.
Following the government’s assurance, the Gig and Platform Workers’ Joint Action Committee (JAC) called off the proposed strike.
