Hyderabad: Home Guard Anand, who was involved in assaulting a woman at Hafizpet Railway Station, has been arrested and will be produced before a court for judicial remand. He is working with Railway Protection Force.
Cyberabad Police Commissioner M. Ramesh Reddy said the Cyberabad Police takes such incidents seriously and reiterated that professional conduct, discipline, dignity and respect for every citizen are fundamental to policing.
He further said that the Home Guard has been removed from the rolls. He added that the Telangana Police will not tolerate any form of violence or crime against women and follows a strict zero-tolerance policy towards such offences.
DGP CV Anand also reacted to the incident on X, stating that such behaviour by police personnel, regardless of their rank or the provocation, cannot be tolerated. He described the incident as unacceptable and said it was in total disregard of the instructions and training given to police personnel. He directed the Cyberabad Police Commissioner to take action against the Home Guard responsible for the incident.
