Harry Kane has spent his entire career overcoming his doubters. There are not many superstars with a history of being farmed out on loan three times before making the breakthrough, but Kane did this at Tottenham Hotspur while benching big-money striker signing Roberto Soldado. His first full season at the club was extraordinary, yet doubters labeled him a “one-season wonder.”
Over a decade later, that one-season wonder is still going pretty strong, having moved to Bayern Munich and won multiple trophies. Ergo, he doesn’t really have a lot of time for all his detractors back in England.

Asked whether he thought he was unfairly treated in England during the press conference ahead of the match against Atlético Madrid, Kane had this to say (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
“I’m not too sure, I think there’s still a lot of people who respected me and appreciated me. I think the people who know football, who understand football, have always been a fan of mine and the way I play and the way I approach the game. Of course, nowadays with social media and fans, you’re always going to get stick from a certain majority. You know, when obviously I didn’t win a team trophy for a long part of my career, and some people use that against me. But like I said, I think the people who really understand football were always understanding of my game and, as I’ve come here to Bayern Munich, they appreciate it even more,” Kane stated.
That appreciation spiked with a Ballon d’Or win—did I forget to mention that?—but the 33-year-old continues to improve in Munich and could realistically win a Champions League title in the next few years, if things go right. Will his detractors finally accept him then? Fortunately, Kane has long realized that it doesn’t matter either way.
