A viral video captured the moment firefighters rescued a dog alive from the rubble after two earthquakes devastated Venezuela.
The Caracas Fire Department said a unit had concluded a search-and-rescue mission at a home when they heard a bark.
Instead of abandoning the scene, the team was able to locate the dog and worked on a plan to pull it out safely.

The heartwarming video showed the fireman sliding a bottle of water to the trapped pooch, who was pinned under a metal bar.
“Let’s go man, we’re going to get you out,” one of the firefighters said in the video that was posted Thursday. “Come take some more. You don’t want anymore?”
The crew cleared debris with their own hands before they were finally able to extract the dog from the remains.
“This extraordinary discovery has served as a symbol of hope for everyone at the disaster site,” the Caracas Fire Department said in a statement posted on its social media account.
“Our emergency teams continue to work tirelessly on search and rescue efforts, reaffirming our absolute commitment to saving lives. We press on, with strength and solidarity!”

Onlookers applauded the first responders’ perseverance at a time when the fire department has been stretched thin as they work round-the-clock to search for survivors following Wednesday’s tremors.
“Every life is valuable, and the dedication of these rescuers is incredibly important,” one person commented.
