In a statement, TGSPDCL said peak demand during the corresponding period ranged from 2,647 to 3,043 MW in 2023, 2,999 to 3,417 MW in 2024 and 2,682 to 3,281 MW in 2025.

Across the TGSPDCL supply area, peak demand rose from 9,601 MW on September 25 to a record 12,299 MW on September 30. Consumption increased from 185.79 million units to 223.34 million units during the period.
At the state level, Telangana recorded an all-time peak demand of 19,892 MW on September 30, when energy consumption reached 327.56 million units.
Officials attributed the surge to urban expansion, growth in IT, industry and commercial establishments, data centres and increased air-conditioner use amid high temperatures and humidity. They also cited higher agricultural pumping because of low rainfall and expanded paddy cultivation.
