Amazon Prime Day is here, and as WIRED’s resident headphone expert, I’ve hunted down the best Prime Day headphone deals for your consideration. Prime Day is a great time to find discounts on all sorts of tech, and while the best deals are often only for Prime Members, it can be hard to tell whether something is truly on sale or just a markdown off an inflated price.
I’ve been covering headphones for over four years, including guides to wireless earbuds, noise-canceling earbuds, open earbuds, and more. I know which headphones are worth your time and which deals aren’t all that good. Below, I’ve curated truly good products on sale that are worth a look.
Be sure to check out our other sale coverage of the Absolute Best Prime Day Deals, the Best Prime Day Tech Deals, the Best Prime Day Soundbar Deals, and more.
- The best earbud deal: Apple AirPods Pro 3 for $179 ($70 off)
- The best open earbud deal: Bose Ultra Open Earbuds for $199 ($100 off)
- The best headphone deal: Nothing Headphone (1) for $189 ($110 off)
Best Prime Day Earbud Deals
Apple AirPods Pro 3 are the best wireless earbuds for iPhone users. This latest model has some of the best noise-canceling and transparency you can find in an earbud, with clear, detailed audio no matter what you are doing. They also come with many unique features like a built-in heart rate sensor and live translation. Plus, they get up to eight hours of battery on a single charge.
The Nothing Ear (a) are already some of the best budget headphones around—a sale only makes that more true. The noise-canceling and sound quality punch above their price tag. Sound quality in particular is balanced and open, more so than most budget earbuds. They look stylish, with a semitransparent and colorful design I love.
These are the best open earbuds for premium comfort and detailed sound. They wrap around your ear like a stylish ear cuff and let you clearly hear the world around you (alongside your music). I use them for outdoor runs and bike rides, where spatial awareness is key to staying safe. The one strike against them was price, but at 33 percent off that’s a moot point.
Another great pair of workout headphones, the Powerbeats Pro 2 are as full-featured as you can get, with impressive noise-canceling and transparency modes, built-in heart rate sensors, and tactile button controls on each earbud. They have an extremely secure fit—I tried and failed to get them to fall out of my ears, no matter what kind of exercise I did.
Yes, I’ve seen these at a lower price before, but the Soundcore Liberty 4 NC are still one of my go-to budget earbud recommendations. That’s because you get pretty good noise-canceling, transparency, sound quality, and call quality for well under $100, plus nice-to-have features like wireless charging and IPX4 water resistance.
If you’ve got a lot of Samsung devices, these Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro will slot in seamlessly with all your gadgets. They are some of the best wireless earbuds around, thanks to great noise canceling and a particularly natural-sounding transparency mode. Some features are locked to Samsung phone owners, so you should only buy these if you’re already in that camp.
No, this isn’t the most impressive sale for the Google Pixel Buds Pro 2, but they remain small, lightweight, comfortable earbuds that pair wonderfully with any Android phone. Despite launching in 2024, they continue to receive notable software updates, including improved Gemini integration and head gesture controls. That’s on top of solid sound quality, noise-canceling, call quality, and fit.
If you’re just looking for cheap workout headphones that stay put and do their job, the JLab Go Sport+ are what you need. On sale for $20, they have IP55 dust and water resistance, more than nine hours of battery life, a steady Bluetooth connection, and customizable settings via the JLab app. Sure, the sound quality won’t impress you, but at this price, that’s to be expected.
Best Prime Day Over-Ear Headphone Deals
This is the lowest price I’ve ever seen for the Nothing Headphone (1), one of our favorite pairs of over-ear headphones. They have one of the best designs around, with a stylish transparent look and tactile controls like a volume wheel, on-off switch, and media control paddle. They are also battery life champs—up to 35 hours with noise-canceling on and 80 with it off.
This is an absolute steal for these great (if a bit old) noise-canceling headphones. The steep discount is likely because Bose is phasing these out in favor of the new and improved 2nd Gen version. Still, these originals are great for travel because they are lightweight, comfortable, have great noise-canceling, and come with a wired connector and hardshell travel case.
Fifty percent off is almost unheard of for premium over-ear headphones like these, but it makes sense—the Sony WH-1000XM5 have largely been replaced by the Sony WH-1000XM6 and Sony WH-1000XM4C. Still, these XM5s are top-tier performers, with excellent noise-canceling and sound quality. They feel so lightweight that they’re comfortable to wear for hours.
A great discount on an already reasonably priced pair of headphones. They’ve got all the features you would expect out of high-end headphones: good noise-canceling, a flexible, portable design, a long 40-hour battery life with ANC on, and some premium materials, but at a much lower price, especially on sale.
