The Sri Durga Malleswara Swamyvarla Devasthanam on Indrakeeladri has constituted an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) to safeguard women employees and provide them with a safe and dignified working environment.

Executive officer V.K. Seena Nayak issued orders constituting the committee under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, commonly known as the POSH Act.

Addressing women employees at a meeting in the temple’s meeting hall on Saturday, the EO said the committee comprised women employees of the Devasthanam to enable female staff to share their grievances and workplace-related problems without hesitation. He assured them that they could discharge their duties without fear and urged them to bring workplace-related difficulties to the committee’s notice.

Emphasising discipline and accountability in the temple administration, Seena Nayak said the three principles of “devotion, fear and responsibility” were important for everyone working in the Devasthanam. He said employees who did not commit any wrongdoing need not fear anyone and should only be afraid of doing something wrong.

The EO introduced the committee members to the women employees and reiterated the temple administration’s commitment to protecting the rights and dignity of women working at the shrine.

Executive engineer L. Rama has been appointed presiding officer of the ICC. Assistant executive officer N.V. Lakshmi Prasanna and superintendent Y. Hema Durgamba are members, while senior legal adviser Guntur Sesha Mohan has been appointed as the external member.
