The MLB universe is still debating what transpired during the Milwaukee Brewers‘ wild NLDS Game 1 win over the San Diego Padres. However, the most important question before Game 2 pertains to the roof.
American Family Field is at the center of the biggest drama in baseball at the moment. Padres star Ty France was denied a home run on Saturday night after his moonshot hit the roof of the MLB venue.

That contact with the ceiling led to Brewers outfielder Jackson Chourio catching the fly ball and denying San Diego the go-ahead runs. Milwaukee went on to win the close affair 3-2 to begin the five-game series.
Meanwhile, Padres radio host Sammy Levitt revealed Sunday that the stadium’s roof will stay open for the important Game 2 showdown.

The controversy has caused a lot of discussions about whether the France hit should’ve resulted in a home run. Statcast data revealed that the moonshot would’ve only been a home run at one of the 30 MLB parks—Daikin Park in Houston.
Padres manager Craig Stammen claims that the umpires and teams actually had a discussion about the unlikely situation occurring before the game started,
“We joked about it at the umpire meeting today, about what would happen if the ball hit the roof,” Stammen said following the game. “Unlikely, but it happened. They ruled that it hit the roof fair, and the outfielder caught it. So, unfortunately, it’s a bad break for us. Looked like it was a possible home run; just didn’t go our way.”
