The Star Wars films have always captivated the minds of their young audience with their action figures. And the latest to join the saga is The Mandalorian and Grogu, which recently saw a theatrical release. Well, the big-screen spin-off of the Disney+ series stars Pedro Pascal along with Baby Yoda. The film revolves around a dangerous rescue mission for ‘Rotta the Hutt’, the son of ‘Jabba the Hutt’. But the big question here is whether the film is appropriate for kids.
All about The Mandalorian and Grogu
The film features a stoic bounty hunter, ‘Din Djarin’, nicknamed ‘Mando’, played by Pedro Pascal and his companion ‘Grogu’. They are on a task to rescue Rotta the Hutt, who has been forced to pay off a debt from a criminal syndicate. The film is a space-mafia movie filled with twists and suspense. Soon, ‘Mando’ tracks ‘Rotta’ at a gladiator area run by a dangerous crime boss. Initially, ‘Rotta’ refused to return because he had become popular there. But later, ‘Mando’ finds that the next match is secretly planned to kill him.

Is The Mandalorian and Grogu appropriate for kids?
The Mandalorian and Grogu are appropriate for kids aged 11 and above. It is advisable that children under 11 not watch the film due to various elements. There are reportedly many ruthless scenes featuring bounty hunters and gangsters. There are primarily a lot of scary creatures in the film, which can spook the kids.

So there’s a chance younger kids might find it difficult to watch. There are scenes where Mando faces gnarly monsters that try to eat him, but he survives. There is another scene which shows Mando being fatally poisoned and lying lifeless under his mask. Scenes where ‘Rotta’ was being tortured, too, can be a bit too much for young kids to take. A particular scene in the film features a warlord being slain. The 2-hour, 12-minute-long film does feature certain upsetting moments, and it is advisable not to take young children to watch it.

Why is The Mandalorian and Grogu rated PG-13?
It is because of the violence and action that The Mandalorian and Grogu are rated PG-13. From laser gunfights to rescue battles, the film features many moments that will surely bring an adrenaline rush, but since a young child might not be able to handle so much violence, gore, graphic details, and action sequences, the film is rated PG-13.
