VIJAYAWADA: YSRC president and former chief minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy said he would continue to question the state government until the DSC-2025 recruitment process was handed over to the CBI for an inquiry.
Jagan Mohan Reddy held a meeting with senior party leaders at Tadepalli on Tuesday to review the violence during Monday’s protest. He said the party had taken the incident seriously and would pursue the matter through constitutional and legal means.
He alleged that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and education minister N. Lokesh were unable to face the demand for a CBI probe into the DSC recruitment process. He further alleged that whenever YSRC leaders raised allegations of corruption and scams, the government resorted to attacks and intimidation.
“The peaceful rallies organised by the YSRC once again brought the DSC scam into public focus. To divert attention from the issue, CM Chandrababu Naidu and minister Lokesh deployed their goons. It is not a ‘Yuvagalam Team’, it is a ‘rowdy force’ being used whenever the government’s corruption, scams and atrocities are questioned,” he said.
Jagan Mohan Reddy alleged that an organised attempt was made to create violence during a peaceful programme and that attackers snatched lathis from police personnel and pelted stones at YSRC workers. He further alleged that Chief Minister Naidu had planned the attack from Kuppam and that threatening remarks were evidence of the alleged conspiracy.
He said the YSRC would not remain silent if the police, acting under pressure from the Chief Minister, continued to misuse the law. He demanded immediate action on complaints submitted by YSRC leaders and registration of cases against Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh over the alleged role in sending groups responsible for the attack.
Jagan Mohan Reddy is scheduled to meet Governor on Wednesday at 5 pm to submit a complaint regarding the attack on YSRC leaders near the SAAP office and seek a CBI inquiry into alleged lapses in the DSC examination.
