Hyderabad: A sculpture of Jain Tirthankara Parshvanatha in meditative posture found in Bada bheemgal in Nizamabad district. Kankanal Rajeshwar, Member of the Kotha Telangana Charitra Brundam, said the sculpture was situated beneath a neem tree near the Rajarajeshwara temple.
Brundam state convener Sriramoju Haragopal said the sculpture featured a triple-tiered umbrella atop the head, while the decorative arch is adorned with carvings of mangoes dating back to Chalukya period. They said this cultural heritage must be safeguarded and preserved, by ensuring future generations have the opportunity to learn about this history.
