The Only Way Is Essex star, Jake Hall, tragically died aged 35 after suffering a ‘tragic accident’ while on holiday in Majorca at a villa he had been renting
A host of heartbroken TOWIE stars have paid tribute to Jake Hall. The dad-of-one left fans in mourning yesterday after it was announced he had died aged 35 while on holiday in Majorca.
Jake was found dead at a Spanish holiday villa after suffering from head injuries, after it was claimed he’d been partying and decided to head back to the property he was renting.
The reality star, who was reportedly found in a pool of blood with head wounds caused by shards of glass after the ‘freak accident’, leaves behind daughter, River, whom he shares with Real Housewives of Cheshire star, Missé Beqiri.
After the tragic news broke, TOWIE shared a tribute, saying in a statement: “Jake was a part of the TOWIE family for a number of years and we send our very deepest sympathies to his family and friends following today’s very sad news.”
And now many famous faces, who found fame on the ITV2 reality show, have also shared their condolences. TOWIE favourite, Pete Wicks, took to Instagram, posting: “Jake my boy [broken hearted emoji]. Just cannot believe this. RIP you beautiful rascal.” Sharing a photo of his pal, he added: “Until we meet again.”
Also paying tribute was TOWIE O.G Ferne McCann. Sharing a photo of Jake, holding a painting while on holiday, she wrote: “Absolutely devastating to hear about Jake. He is one cool, cool cat. I was always in complete awe of his creativity, his art and his love for his daughter, River. My prayers are with his beautiful family and his beautiful daughter River.”
A number of stars have also posted tributes to Jake on his Instagram page, with Georgia Harrison writing in the comments section: “RIP Jake my heart’s breaking for everyone close to you today and your amazing family.”
Meanwhile, Jake’s former co-star, Tommy Mallett, also joined former castmates and fans in paying tribute to the late reality TV star. Taking to Instagram, Tommy shared a reel of throwback images from the pair on holiday and discussed their “special” and ” weird ” bond.
He wrote: “The only thing weirder than us was our relationship & that’s what made it special.. you inspired me to start my first brand & give me inspiration to start all over again when I see you do it… See you on the other side too buff.”
His post was met by a number of comments from past show pals, including Billie Shepherd. She simply shared three broken love heart emojis.
In his Stories, Tommy shared further insight into his unique friendship with Jake. He uploaded a clip of his mate randomly filming someone who was wearing his clothing brand. Morning Live star Gordon Smart said: “Jake my boy, just cannot believe this. RIP you beautiful rascal.”
After quitting TOWIE, Jake went on to form his own label, By Jake Hall. Meanwhile, Tommy created CTRNE, and Jake filmed someone wearing a pair of his trainers from his pal’s brand, which Tommy shared.
In the clip, a stranger can be seen walking across the street. Jake then shouts back to proudly explain that the trainers the man is wearing are from Tommy’s label.
Tommy captioned the upload: “This sums up Jake. A few years ago randomly walking around the Hamptons with a mouth full of food calling strangers over to film there [sic] feet..”
And in a follow-up, Tommy urged his followers to “call anyone you’ve drifted away from and love” saying “life’s very short”. His advice came as he shared a voice note by Jake, which revealed how proud he was of his pal.
Jake tells Tommy how proud he was of his success in business and with his family. “I’m proud just f*****g all over mate. Just keep doing what you’re doing and keep being a proper w****r.”
Also paying her respects to Jake was veteran presenter, Denise Van Outen. The star, who provided the voiceover for TOWIE, told the Mail: “I’ve worked on the show since it started and with any loss within our TOWIE family it is heartbreaking. But he was so lovely whenever I saw him out and he was so friendly and so talented,” she said.
“I really feel for his family, my thoughts go out to them, and it is just really sad and he was way too young to go.”
Referencing the other TOWIE stars who are sadly no longer with us, she added: “I do wonder what TOWIE will do, I think they’ll do a tribute as they’ve lost a few people recently. I was just really really shocked when I saw it.”
Jake died after he smashed into a glass door and suffered an injury to his head, according to reports. The tragic incident happened after he had been out partying with friends.
Police were called to the property in Santa Margalida, in the north of Majorca at 7:30am local time. The investigation, which is being carried out by the Civil Guard, is ongoing.
A police source said: “We are focusing on the theory the victim died in a tragic accident after hitting his head against the glass door but it is still too early to say definitely what happened.”
