In retirement, the former New England Patriots quarterback is once again linking with the rap mogul.

Reps for Brady said in a statement to the California Post on Thursday that Jay-Z is one of over a dozen celebrities and public figures who are now investors in the seven-time Super Bowl champion’s trading card venture, CardVault by Tom Brady.

Hov, alongside Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge, Oilers captain Connor McDavid, UFC honcho Dana White, Raising Cane’s founder Todd Graves and several others, have pledged to funnel money into Brady’s fledgling business in an effort to help it with new store openings, hirings and more, according to Brady’s reps.

“We weren’t looking for passive investors, we wanted builders, people who genuinely understand what we’re creating and can help us scale it the right way,” CardVault by Tom Brady co-founder Ed Kane said. “When leaders of this caliber choose to bet on CardVault, that’s a powerful signal about where this industry is headed. I’m incredibly proud of the group we’ve assembled, and even more excited about what’s next.”

Brady got into CardVault in February 2025, and he’s since helped it expand from three locations to 17.

The place touts itself as an area for hobbyists to buy, trade and grade cards and collectibles, and its goal, according to Brady’s reps, is “to build a network of 100+ stores located in premier sports and entertainment destinations while expanding beyond brick-and-mortar retail through automated retail, digital commerce, strategic partnerships and new distribution channels.”

CardVault currently has locations in multiple states, including California and New York.

“Collecting today is about much more than owning a card,” Brady said in a news release this week. “It’s about the stories, the memories and the community that brings fans together.

“CardVault is building a place where every collector from someone opening their first pack to lifelong hobbyists can share that passion. The caliber of this investor group reflects the opportunity we see to grow collecting into an even bigger part of sports culture.”
