Gavin and Stacey star Joanna Page has exposed her husband for not helping around the house with the kids as she labels him her ‘fifth child’

Gavin & Stacey actress Joanna Page has revealed that she feels her husband acts more like her “fifth child” than a equal partner when it comes to sharing the load around the house and with their kids. The 49 year old TV star, who is best known for her role as Stacey in the hugely popular sitcom series, has been married to Love Actually star James Thornton for the past 23 years and have four children together.
James regularly appears on Joanna’s podcast Lush! and they continuously go viral for their genuine arguments.
Recently they argued over whether to relocate to Spain with their children and now they have been locked in a war of words over James’ “lack of help” when getting their kids ready to leave in order to enjoy a day by the pool.
Initiating the discussion, James asks Joanna: “Do you want to talk about the argument that we had on holiday?”
The Welsh TV actress then explained that she had been packing the children’s swimming bags while James simply watched her as she frantically attempted to get everyone ready to leave.
James had been asked previously to help by brushing his children’s teeth.
She candidly said: “After doing that (packing the bags), saying to you, ‘Can you just go and get her teeth cleaned?’ She starts crying. I’m like, ‘For goodness sake, have I got to do everything? Have I got to take over doing this now?'”
She added: “So I go in, I am then cleaning her teeth, get her sorted. I then go back, finish packing these three bags. I look and the kids and everybody are just waiting for me.
“And then you are just leaning against where the desk is in the dressing table sort of bit, leaning just against that waiting as well, like a fifth child waiting for me to finish packing three bags before we can all go downstairs!”
This comes after the star was embroiled in another heated discussion with James over moving to Spain with their brood.
She told her viewers: “I now want to move to Spain. I say it every year.”
In agreement, James said: “Yes every time we go away.”
Questioning why it is something they continue discussing rather than acting on, she argues her case by saying: “Why can’t we just go ‘come on, let’s up sticks’. What’s holding you back? We’re all going to die one day. Let’s just all move to Mallorca.”
Adding reason to the discussion he replied: “You’d have to travel back here to work?”
But hitting back Joanna said she would only travel for a few days and would work it so she is not away from the family for long periods at a time.
“I’d just be nipping back and forth,” she continued.
And while the star who is known for her bubbly personality continued to talk, she abruptly paused and raged at James saying: “Don’t interrupt me, I know you’re about to interrupt me… let me finish my sentence!”
According to reports, Joanna is in talks with ITV bosses to take part in the next series of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here!
