Even in the Chicago Bears‘ first game of the season against the Carolina Panthers, they had a problem with penalties. In fact, they finished that game with a total of 12 penalties. Then, in their loss to the Minnesota Vikings, Chicago had 12 penalties with eight accepted.
Speaking with the media about the penalty issues on Monday, right guard Jonah Jackson said that it is certainly something that can fix going into their next game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football.

“It’s not something that we can’t fix immediately,” Jackson said.

The penalties were actually something they fixed during the game against Minnesota. While Chicago finished the game with eight accepted penalties, seven of those came in the first half meaning they went the entire second half with only one penalty.
When the Bears won against the Eagles last season, they did it by only having four penalties and controlling the ball on the ground with nearly 300 rushing yards and only 144 passing yards.
Especially because Tyson Bagent will most likely be Chicago’s starting quarterback for this game after Caleb Williams‘ hamstring injury against the Vikings, the Bears will want to follow the same recipe they used last season to get to 2-1 on the year.
