Karimnagar: Two farmers died in separate lightning incidents in the erstwhile Karimnagar district on Tuesday, police said.
Gopu Surender Reddy, 58, a native of Vedurugatta in Choppadandi mandal, was allegedly struck by lightning while working in his agricultural field.
When he did not return home by evening, his family members went to the field and found his body.
In another incident, Janga Sudhakar Reddy, 65, died after he was allegedly struck by lightning at Kolanur in Odela mandal of Peddapalli district.
Sudhakar Reddy, who was working in his field, took shelter under a mango tree during rain. Lightning struck the tree, killing him on the spot.
Police visited the two spots and registered cases before beginning an investigation.
In another incident, 25 sheep died after lightning struck at Mulasala in Peddapalli mandal.
Their owners, Boini Sadaiah and Kasu Naresh, sought government assistance.
