Katie Price’s friends are worried for the former glamour model after her husband Lee Andrews was found in prison. The Mirror can reveal that Katie’s pals are concerned about the star after she received a call from Lee from prison. He was reported as a missing person on May 17, five days after he was last seen.
Her has now claimed he was arrested and detained on suspicion of espionage, and has been held at Dubai’s notorious Al Awir prison. Katie told The Sun: “I have found him – he is alive, and he is okay. I told him how worried I had been and told him I loved him. It was very rushed, but he said the authorities out there thought he was a spy. I don’t know much more than that right now.”
A source has now told The Mirror that Katie’s friends are worried about her. They shared: “Pals of Katie are scared that she is going to get back with Lee. They thought she’d seen the light when he did a disappearing act on her, but now she’s had this fresh phone call from him from prison, they feel like she’s gone 10 steps backwards.
“They also are worried that she is going to fly out to Dubai to go and meet him when he comes out of prison on Monday. After everything Lee’s put her through the last couple of weeks, she’s been very scared, very anxious, very worried about him.”
The source revealed that Katie’s friends are really worried she will follow her heart and not her head adding: “They feel like he is just going to get away with this.
“Katie always follows her heart and not her head, and they’re worried that she is going to follow her heart on this and just believe every word that he says, whether it’s true or not, and she’ll just pack up and go to Dubai again, which she said she wouldn’t do,” they said.
The source added: “She was waiting for him to come here and had swore she wouldn’t step back in Dubai but the ways she’s acting now says otherwise.”
The Mirror have contacted Katie’s representative for comment. It has been claimed that Lee will now have to pay a fine, thought to be four figures, and is he expected to be released on Monday.
