The post of the White House Press Secretary has been vacant since Karoline Leavitt left her position at the end of August 2026. She made the decision to spend more time with her family, particularly her young kids. On October 9, 2026, President Trump appointed Katie Zacharia as Karoline’s successor. As Katie enters her new role as the next White House Press Secretary, her physical transformation over the years has come into focus as netizens compare her old and new photos.
Katie Zacharia’s before-and-after photos surface amid her appointment as the White House Press Secretary
Conservative commentator Katie Zacharia has been officially announced as the new White House Press Secretary, which sparked immense netizen interest in her life, career, family, and beauty-related choices. Katie might have just been named for the position, but she isn’t new to working with Trump. She served as a spokesperson for the DHS for two months and also previously interned at the White House. Thus, she is already known among the Republican supporters.
Katie’s alleged changes in appearance over the years had been a topic of discussion even before she was appointed as the Press Secretary, due to her association with Trump. Recently, it has drawn renewed attention, and social media users dug out old photos to compare her then-and-now looks. In her old pics, the 40-year-old White House Press Secretary looked younger, with seemingly softer features.
Over the years, Katie might have undergone what netizens call the MAGA or ‘Mar-a-Lago face’ transformation. For the unversed, the term is used to refer to a specific makeup and cosmetic enhancement style associated with those in President Trump’s inner circle. In one of Katie’s old photos from October 2012, she was seen posing for a group picture in Shanghai with her sister and a friend. In the photo, Katie looked baby-faced, with little to no makeup and long golden-blonde hair.
In another picture posted in March 2013, Katie Zacharia was seen holding a cup of bubble tea, wearing a gray hat and sporting a casual look. She retained her youthful charm, with a fuller face and softer features. In Katie’s recent photos, her long blonde hair remains constant but is usually styled in sleek cascading waves. According to netizens, her facial features have gotten sharper, with her eyebrows bolder and her lips plumper.
Katie Zacharia also seems to wear bolder eye makeup now, a look noticeable on most women in President Trump’s inner circle, including Karoline Leavitt, Kristi Noem, and Kimberly Guilfoyle. The alleged differences between Katie’s old and new pictures led netizens to wonder whether she resorted to cosmetic procedures or if they were just natural changes from aging.
