The Wisconsin Badgers revealed their initial injury report against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, and there is a new name that has popped up: offensive tackle Kevin Heywood.

Heywood appeared to suffer an injury this weekend against the Iowa Hawkeyes and is now listed as doubtful for this weekend’s game against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights.

In addition, running back Nate Palmer, who has missed the last few contests, and offensive lineman Barrett Nelson, who missed last week after starting the week before and was seen in a walking boot, are both doubtful as well.

The injury is a killer for the Badgers, who have been dealing with offensive line shuffling all season long. They initially started with PJ Wilkins at left tackle, Colin Cubberly at left guard, Austin Kawecki at center, Emerson Mandell at right guard, and Kevin Heywood at right tackle.

Four of those players have now seen legitimate action at another position, with Wilkins initially getting benched before seeing time at right guard and right tackle in recent weeks. Kawecki got the start at right guard last week as he continues to deal with a hand injury, moving Stylz Blackmon, who had been starting at right guard, to center.

Mandell has been at right tackle since the Badgers moved Kevin Heywood back to left tackle, and the Badgers will now have to rely on their depth there. Wisconsin has Wilkins and Florida State transfer Lucas Simmons-Johannson as their top options there on the depth chart.

So, the change will continue along the offensive line, as the Badgers try and right the ship offensively and figure things out. But that’ll have to happen likely without a key piece of their offense, at least for this week according to the injury report.
