Celebrity Traitors stars King Kenny and Maya Jama got pretty close on the BBC show when they worked together as Traitors, however, there has recently been a rumour that the pair have moved from friends to lovers after the YouTube star was spotted leaving TV presenter Maya’s house.
Following the show’s finale, King Kenny, 29, was photographed leaving Maya’s north London flat, and fans noticed matching interior backgrounds in social media posts from the same period. Kenny joined Jama and other cast mates to watch the final episode and attended her annual Halloween party in London. Despite the rumours, insiders claim their relationship is strictly platonic.
Those close to Jama clarified that she is single and that she and Kenny are just good friends.
They noted that a wider group of friends was staying over to celebrate Halloween and watch the series final, with Kenny sleeping on the sofa.
However, neither Maya or Kenny has spoken out on the rumours – until now.
During a radio interview on Capital XTRA, Kenny directly addressed the gossip, stating that the two of them simply “laugh at it”.
Host Robert Bruce said to Kenny during the interview: “They (paparazzi) are all taking pictures of you and Maya, you and Maya…
“What’s going on?! Why are they doing that to you?”
Kenny replied: “I don’t know, man,” as he attempted to shut down the questioning.
However Bruce continued to probe him and asked if he and Maya discussed sparking romance rumours: “Do you guys talk about that kind of stuff? Like, ‘aw look what they’re doing.’ What’s it like for you guys?”
Admitting they find it funny, Kenny said: “Uh, yeah, we just laugh at it, to be honest.
“That’s just what happens, innit, when you’re in the limelight? You’ve just got to laugh at it and move on.”
Kenny and Maya both got to the final of Celebrity Traitors Series 2, however Maya left at the final roundtable with Kenny voting her off.
The series was eventually won by comedian Romesh Ranganathan and musician, Sebastian Croft after they banished Kenny, James Blunt and Leigh-Anne Pinnock in the final stages.
