Lainey Wilson Gets Real About The Reaction Of Miley Cyrus To Her Hannah Montana Impersonator Days

Lainey Wilson said that she spoke to Miley Cyrus about impersonating Hannah Montana

In an interview with PEOPLE on April 16, 2026 (ET), Lainey Wilson referred to the upcoming documentary, Keepin’ Country Cool, saying that it is going to feature those moments where she impersonated Hannah Montana. For the unversed, the documentary is scheduled to be released on Netflix on April 22, 2026.

Lainey then recalled her conversation with Miley during the premiere of Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special, held in Los Angeles in March 2026. Lainey said that Miley knows everything about how she impersonated Hannah Montana. Wilson stated that although she did not have a lot of things that were required, she managed to sing at many birthday parties. Lainey mentioned that she was able to learn a few things from the entire experience. Addressing the time when she spoke to Miley, Lainey said:

“I told her impersonating Hannah really showed me, like, ‘Okay, if you want this, if you want to do this not as Hannah Montana but as yourself, you’re going to have to go get it. I wasn’t really even old enough to be driving, but I was going to Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisiana trying to play in front of whoever I possibly could.”

The upcoming Netflix documentary based on Lainey Wilson recently premiered in Nashville. Notably, the actress appeared for a Q&A session during the event, Lainey revealed everything that has motivated her so far in her career. She said that those things have been changing on various occasions and that she is well aware of the fact that she has to prove people wrong and right at the same time. Lainey said that a lot of individuals gave her the chance she needed in various places. She further stated:

“Even when I got here [in Nashville]… I try to pick and choose the things that I want to drive me. Sometimes it is being pissed off, and sometimes it is wanting to prove everybody who has been there and who has like seen me on this journey do it. Also, now I have a lot of fans that believe in me and show up and sacrifice a lot to buy the ticket. I have a lot of people that I want to keep happy.”
