Rapper Lil Wayne seems to have finally found the one for him. The 44-year-old recently announced that he’s engaged to 23-year-old Madi Cannon in a video where he could be seen congratulating Hot Boys member B.G. on his engagement to Brooke Jones. It is worth mentioning that before his engagement to Madi, Lil Wayne was in a relationship with Denise Bidot. However, it seems like their breakup was on unsavory terms.
Lil Wayne’s ex-girlfriend claimed that he broke up with her on Mother’s Day and accused him of abuse
Lil Wayne had an on-and-off relationship with Denise Bidot. About a year before his engagement to Madi Cannon made headlines, Denise accused Lil Wayne of breaking up with her via text on Mother’s Day. In an Instagram Story on May 11, 2025, she began with a text post, calling Lil Wayne’s move diabolical. According to the model, Lil Wayne and his team kicked her and her teenage daughter out of his house. She wrote:
“Breaking up with someone on Mother’s Day is diabolical. Prayers up though. God always pulls me through. Walking with faith.”
To make matters even worse, Denise was recovering from surgery and was not in a condition to lift boxes. She also added that her daughter’s birthday was next weekend. As she gave more context in another video, the model’s daughter could be seen nodding her head in the background. She said:
“Wayne literally kicked me and my daughter out on Mother’s Day today. I am just recovering from surgery. I am five weeks out from a whole mommy makeover. I can’t even lift boxes. But this man has his assistants coming to help kick us out today … and [he] broke up with me on Mother’s Day through text. And [my daughter’s] birthday’s next weekend.”
Denise Bidot said that Lil Wayne’s actions made her feel super unsure about how to even process her emotions. Threatening to sue the rapper, she asked her followers if they had any lawyer recommendations. The model claimed that she knew Lil Wayne was flying in two girls on the day she was recording the video. She wondered, “Who knows how many plethora of girls he has.”
Lil Wayne’s ex-girlfriend went on to post a follow-up video in which she directly addressed the rapper and asked him why he had flown her out from New York and brought her to his place only to end things like this. Denise then accused Lil Wayne of physical violence. She said that she also knew of other women he had put his hands on. In her words:
“Like, these men really be taking advantage. And it’s not just the emotional abuse — this man has actually laid a fucking hand on me. Like, nah. Nah. And I took it. You know what’s crazy is they always say you’re so stupid for love, and I thought it was a mistake. But I know other women he’s put his hands on.”
Denise Bidot concluded her video by saying that she and her daughter would go back to the house that they originally lived in together. And she would see how things go from there as “this is absolutely crazy and a new low, even for him.”
Lil Wayne’s engagement to Madi Cannon
The video in which Lil Wayne announced his engagement to Madi Cannon appeared to be a FaceTime call between the rapper and Hot Boys member B.G. After congratulating B.G. on his engagement to Brooke Jones, Lil Wayne pointed the camera to Madi, who came and stood behind his shoulder. He said, “And I’m marrying this one.” Madi also congratulated B.G., after which Lil Wayne said that Madi was his fiancee. The video concluded with the rapper telling B.G. to let him know which color they will be wearing, as he would be the best man at the wedding.
