Nellore: State-level spokesperson for the Telugu Desam, Kotamreddy Giridhar Reddy, on Sunday urged the people to extend their support to NDA candidates in the upcoming local body elections.
Those who remained accessible to the people and consistently worked for their welfare deserved to be elected, he said at the launching of works for the CC roads at a cost of `45 lakh in Devarapalem and Kommarapudi villages of Nellore Rural constituency.
Devarapalem is the gateway to the Vedagiri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple at Narasimhakonda.
Nellore agriculture marketing committee chairman Manubolu Sridhar Reddy laid the foundation in the presence of TDP leaders.
Giridhar Reddy said the government was according high priority to the development of Nellore Rural, particularly with the provision of basic infrastructure in villages.
Roads, drainage, drinking water and other essential amenities were being improved in a phased manner, he said.
He said development works worth hundreds of crores were being taken up in Nellore Rural under the leadership of MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy.
Temple chairman Indupuru Achyut Reddy, MLA office mandal in-charge Vemireddy Surendra Reddy, cluster in-charge Jaladanki Sudhakar, former sarpanch Vemireddy Ashok Reddy, grievance cell in-charge Mangalapudi Bhaskar Reddy, TDP leaders and local residents participated in the programme.
