Just two weeks before filing the lawsuit in New York, the Indian-American financier, John, exited the investment firm, Bregal Sagemount. JPMorgan’s Lorna Hajdini’s accuser, Chirayu Rana, faked his father’s death and took bereavement leave
Recently, The New York Post reached out to Chirayu Rana’s father, Chaitanya, regarding the lawsuit filed by him against JPMorgan’s senior executive, Lorna Hajdini. While Chirayu lied to the bank about his father’s supposed death, he is still alive and shared his take on the ongoing legal case. The outlet claimed that Chirayu faked his dad’s death to collect nearly three months of paid leave and probably used the time off to prepare the lawsuit against Lorna Hajdini.

Sources told The New York Post that Chirayu informed his supervisors in 2024 about his father’s demise and took several kinds of leaves, including bereavement leave. Chirayu mentioned that at the time, his family needed him. After The New York Post reached out to Chaitanya, he informed them that he knew nothing about the lawsuit. Back in late 2024, he told the bank that his dad was very sick.

Thus, the company allowed him to work from home instead of coming to the office. He took various leaves from March 2025 to May 2025. Back then, Chirayu had sent a draft complaint to the bank’s legal team. In that document, he mentioned that his father died in November 2024, and thus he went to his parents’ house in Virginia. An insider said the content of the complaint can be read as:
“In or around November 2024, the plaintiff’s father passed away, and he went to his parents’ home in Virginia.”

Allegations levied against JPMorgan senior executive, Lorna Hajdini
In his lawsuit, Chirayu claimed that in May 2024, he rejected an invitation from Lorna for drinks. However, Lorna disliked his rejection and allegedly told him, “If you don’t f**k me soon, I’m going to ruin you… never forget, I fking own you.” The lawsuit stated that Lorna often told Chirayu that he would have promotions and career advancements in JPMorgan only if he sexually pleases her. According to Chirayu, besides verbal harassment, he was physically assaulted by Lorna.

In an alleged incident at Chirayu’s apartment, Lorna insulted his wife and also performed oral sex on him by forcibly removing his pants. While pleading with her to leave, she allegedly told him, “I bet your little Asian, fish head, wife doesn’t have these cannons. Stop f**king crying. You think anyone would ever believe you?” In his lawsuit, Chirayu mentioned that Lorna turned him into her ‘sex slave’. He claimed the senior executive of JPMorgan, Lorna, drugged him with Rohypnol and Viagra and threatened to cut his bonus.

However, later reports surfaced claiming that Chirayu didn’t work under Lorna and reported to Jon Wolter. According to a report by The New York Post, Lorna’s lawyer claimed that she was never engaged in any kind of inappropriate conduct with the accuser. The lawyer was quoted as saying:
“Lorna categorically denies the allegations. She never engaged in any inappropriate conduct with this individual of any kind and has never even been to the location where the alleged sexual assault supposedly took place.”
