Love Island star Priya has sparked a classism debate online after she appeared to mock a fellow islander’s job.
In last night’s episode, the islanders were shown a selection of clips from the series and the spin-off Aftersun as part of an Awards Show episode called ‘The Graph-ties.’ One clip showed ex-islander Elicia talking about Aidan and Priya’s relationship on Aftersun, commenting that she felt that Priya was a “game player”.
In response to the clip, Priya responded: “It’s really sad to see someone so bitter and she can keep that sour taste in her mouth. Jealousy is a disease, get well soon.”
Later in the episode after the awards show section was over, Priya made a joke about Elicia’s job: “I don’t care what Julia says I don’t care what Elicia says I don’t care it’s cringey, go back to the National Rail Elicia! You work on the National Rail why are you f***king sitting on Aftersun?”
“Nothing wrong with working on National Rail,” replied Kavan as Mica and Jasmine laughed. Priya continued: “But just go back there an save your breath. Like instead of sitting there and calling out my shit saying I’m a game player.”
Viewers were immediately unimpressed by the comment, with some suggesting that Priya should be removed from the show.
“‘Go back to the national rail’ may seriously be one of the most disgusting things said on Love Island, get Priya off now #loveislanduk #loveisland,” said one commenter on X.
“Huh what a classist comment coming from Priya & what’s wrong with Elicia working at the National Rail?! You’re still gonna use the same train to go back to Surrey, so don’t know what you’re on about #LoveIsland #LoveIslandUK,” said another viewer.

Others praised Kavan for speaking up and asking Priya what was wrong with working at the National Rail while other girls on the show including Mica and Jasmine, laughed at Priya’s comment.

“Kavan may be 21, but the most mature to pull Priya up on her comment. Whilst her childish sidekicks laughed it off… #LoveislandUK,” said one viewer.
“The fact Jasmine and Mica was laughing when Priya made a comment about Elicia’s job at National Rail and it took Kavan to said something for them to stop was very telling. Wow @LoveIsland #loveisland #loveislanduk,” said one commenter.
Aidan later called her out and told her she was “better than that” and some of her comments were below the belt, which she agreed with.
