VIJAYAWADA: Prominent film director Boyapati Srinu distributed renewal membership cards to members of the Movie Artists Association Andhra Pradesh (MAA-AP) at its 2026 general body meeting here on Friday, founder Dilip Raja said.
He said a majority of members favoured giving leadership positions in the association’s organisational elections to those holding Andhra Pradesh Aadhaar cards. However, he clarified that MAA-AP was not opposed to Telangana-based organisations and would work with them as one family for the development of the film industry.
The meeting reviewed the association’s activities since its inception through a digital presentation. Dilip Raja clarified that membership did not guarantee house sites or film opportunities. Earlier memberships had been cancelled due to non-renewal, and fresh renewal cards were distributed.
Actor Ramesh Varma said MAA-AP was working continuously for the development of the film industry and the welfare of its members. Thoota Ramakrishna praised the association’s efforts to promote aspiring artistes in Andhra Pradesh.
Actor Chandrasekhar said more than 100 members had secured roles in films. Several artistes from across the state attended the meeting.
