WA Police are investigating after a dead body was found in Bentley on Tuesday morning, while an injured girl was found in nearby Cannington and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Another child has been taken into custody and is assisting police with their inquiries.
Officers believe the incident is contained and there is no ongoing concerns for the public.
A St John Ambulance spokesperson said paramedics were called to the incident at 6.25am. Two vehicles were sent to the scene – one a critical care ambulance.
The scene of the incident is believed to be a residential premises, separate to the location in Cannington.
The injured child, a girl under 15 years old, was taken to Royal Perth Hospital under lights and sirens.
The incident forced the closure of Albany Highway northbound between Manning Road and Hamilton Street in Cannington.
