A man has been charged with murder after the body of a 65-year-old was found in a unit south of Brisbane.

Police were called to the North Road address in Woodridge, Logan, for a welfare check about 7.15am on Tuesday.

The body of a man identified by Nine News as Tony Cue was found inside, and a crime scene was declared.

On Wednesday morning police confirmed a 32-year-old man had been charged with murder.

He had been arrested at Beenleigh about 7.50pm a day earlier.

Detective Inspector Ian Galpin did not reveal the extent of Cue’s injuries, but told reporters “there was an obvious injury, which caused police to declare a crime scene”.

Neighbours told Nine News Cue had lived in the complex for more than 30 years and was seen outside his unit on Monday watering his plants.

The 32-year-old man was due to appear before Beenleigh Magistrates Court on October 7.
