Visakhapatnam: The Chief Judicial Magistrate, Visakhapatnam, M. Pradeep Kumar, on Thursday convicted Mohammad Ibrahim, 30, a resident of Arilova, and sentenced him to seven days rigorous imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 1,000 in a cow slaughter case.
The court held him guilty for the slaughter of two cows at Mustafa Colony in Arilova in December 2024.
According to senior assistant public prosecutor Mylapilli Adinarayana, Arilova police arrested Ibrahim on December 22, 2024, for allegedly slaughtering and selling cow meat. A chargesheet was subsequently filed in the case.
The prosecution established guilt under Sections 6 and 10 of the Andhra Pradesh Prohibition of Cow Slaughter and Animal Preservation Act, 1977, the court observed.
