On September 24, 2026, Mark took to his Instagram handle and posted photos when his wife, who was pregnant with their first child. It also featured their dog. One of the photos shows Marks’ wife, Hannah flaunting her bare baby bump by the beachside, and she looked super gorgeous.
Along with the photos, Mark penned a note sharing the heart-wrenching news of his wife’s demise. He shared that he had lost his beautiful partner, Hannah, two days after the birth of their daughter, Sofia. Mark revealed that he is shattered and revealed that she had dreamt of becoming a mother. So, it was extremely painful for him to go through this time. He wrote:
“It is with deep sadness that I share the sudden loss of my beautiful partner, Hannah 2 days following the birth of our daughter, Sofia. I am shattered. Her dream was to become a Mum, so it’s been incredibly difficult to take. Thank you for all of your messages of support, I can’t always reply to them all but I do appreciate them. Sofia and I love you and will miss you very much Hannah.”
The couple had been together for a long time, and they embrace parenthood this year, but the sudden passing of Hannah has left everyone in shock and pain. For the unversed, Mark returned to Perth after he was drafted out of Western Australia by St Kilda as a rookie in 2010. The 35-year-old retired from playing the following year. Having made 120 AFL appearances, where he won the premiership in 2018.
