As the instability grew, Loni Willison turned to drugs to escape her past. She turned to crystal meth and began showing some severe signs of mental health issues. She even spoke about her experience during the lowest phase of her life and revealed having terrifying delusions, including the belief that people were electrocuting her. As time went by, the untreated conditions deepened her distrust of people and institutions, pushing her further away from potential help and deeper into a life of isolation and survivalism.

By 2018, she was, in the truest terms, ‘homeless’, and soon enough she was clicked by paparazzi, pushing a shopping cart, dressed in tattered layers. However, what broke many hearts was the fact that she intentionally maintained a dishevelled appearance and avoided bathing to prevent being targeted or assaulted on the streets. Over the years, several of Loni’s friends have tried to help her, but they have always rejected them. Loni Willison’s friend, Kristin Rossetti, offered her a hotel stay, clean clothes, meals, and rehab. However, each time she refused, as she believed that she was being watched and didn’t trust rehab centres.
