The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Harry and Meghan, delighted crowds by making their first public appearance together since returning to the UK at the end of summer

Meghan Markle admitted that she had the “best job in the world” while greeting crowds at their first joint appearance since returning to the UK. The pair, who returned to the UK towards the end of Summer, greeted crowds of people outside the Community Recording Studio in St Ann’s, Nottingham on Thursday, October 15.

After getting out of their vehicle, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived to cheers from the crowd, as they stopped to speak to children from a local nursery before moving on to other well wishers. The couple spent around 25 minutes meeting the crowd, shaking hands and posing for pictures – before entering the Community Recording Studio.

One video taken by somebody in the crowd showed the moment Meghan interacted with two young boys at the front of the crowd. During their chat, The Duchess of Sussex admitted that she has the “best job in the world” – but it wasn’t relating to acting or her business’.

What admission did Meghan make to crowds in Nottingham?

Meghan said: “I’m a mum. Best job in the world.” During the interaction she smiled at the boys while also affectionately poking one of the children as she made the admission.

The Duke and Duchess visited Community Recording Studio (CRS) following Harry’s long history with the organisation, dating back to 2013.

CRS first established to give young people access to music and recording facilities, and now offers a broader range of creative activities, sport, mentoring and youth development.

The Duke continued supporting the charity for several years, and made a visit to the community studio in September 2025, when he was in the UK for a series of events including the annual WellChild Awards.

At the time, Harry made a £1.1 million donation to BBC Children in Need, which is being used in CRS’s redevelopment. The Duke and Duchess’ visit today highlights more than a decade of engagement with the Nottingham community.

The pair will also visit Himmah Hub, a food poverty community action group. Here, Meghan is set to reunite with the women affected by the Grenfell Tower fire, who she collaborated with on a 2018 charity cookbook, Together: Our Community Cookbook.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, along with their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, relocated to Britain in late August after spending six years in California. Since their return, Harry has been spotted at a selection of events, while Meghan has remained under the radar.

Just after their arrival back on British shores, a letter sent on the King’s instruction insisted that Harry and Meghan should be viewed as “private citizens” on their return to the UK, which “surprised” the Sussexes. Despite the letter, Harry has been undertaking engagements in recent weeks, namely attending the inaugural Invictus Spirit Awards in London, and the United for Freedom gala to raise money for organisations supporting Ukraine.
