Marks and Spencer has caused a stir with the release of a “genius” new summer treat that’s got shoppers “running” to stores in a bid to snap them up and give them a try

Marks and Spencer shoppers are racing to their local stores to snap up a new sweet treat, ideal for the warmer summer months, that’s been branded “genius”. The retail giant is a firm favourite on the British high street, thanks to its high quality products which span a range of departments from clothing and accessories, to homeware, food and more.

Like many companies, M&S keeps shoppers informed on all the newest stock and product releases they can expect to find online and in store and recently drummed up excitement with news of a new addition to the shelves of its famed Food Halls. The product in question is its new Choc Cone Ends, priced at £3 for a 120g bag.

Taking to Instagram with an image of the coveted summer snack, Marks and Spencer penned: “New in the M&S Foodhall – Get ready… these are about to be everywhere.

“Introducing your new obsession: Choc Cone Ends. Mini waffle cones packed with smooth Belgian milk chocolate aka the best bit of the cone, times ten.

“Perfect for sharing (or not) or levelling up your dessert game… trust us, these won’t stay on shelves for long. Run, don’t walk to your local M&S Foodhall!”

In the comments section, fellow Instagram users were keen to share their thoughts. One person said: “Who is your food designer? They are an absolute genius!”

Another lamented: “I have been looking for these daily for weeks now!!!!”

To which, M&S replied: “We’re so sorry you haven’t managed to get your hands on these yet. They’ve been flying out, we knew they were going to be a huge hit! Fingers crossed you’re able to grab some soon”.

Another shared: “Omg, can’t wait to try it!”

And another quipped: “Take my money” while one Instagram user added: “Naughty, naughty M&S, what are you doing to meeeeee”.

The mini waffle cones are filled with Belgian milk chocolate and can be added to ice cream and other desserts, or simply snacked on straight from the bag. They’re suitable for vegetarians.

Long before it evolved into the retail powerhouse so known and loved today, Marks and Spencer got its start as a humble market stall, first established in Leeds back in 1884.

The retailer has built its reputation on quality goods which span multiple departments. Shoppers can snap up the newest fashion trends and peruse a vast selection of homeware, lingerie, beauty products and more.

Equally as popular are its beloved Food Halls, which stock both branded food and drink alongside M&S’s own-label products.
