Daniel Farke has said Leeds defender Jayden Bogle is ‘probably the softest player’ in the Premier League and did not mean to injure Mathys Tel.
Bogle was fortunate to escape a red card after catching Tel high on the ankle during Leeds’ 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur at Elland Road.

VAR reviewed the incident, though decided the challenge was not a sending-off offence. Bogle was not even cautioned, though Tel was forced to leave the pitch with an injury.
Farke was asked about the first-half incident at full-time and defended Bogle. He said there was no malice from the 26-year-old, who he said is ‘probably the softest player in the whole league’.
“I haven’t watched it back but I heard there were several doubtful situations,” he said toTNT Sports.
“A possible handball, and also this situation. I haven’t watched it back but what I do know is Jayden Bogle, never out of any bad intention does the foul. It looked a bit like an unlucky coming together.

“A very unlucky outcome that Mathys is injured, wish him all the best. But also Jayden Bogle, the last thing he is a nasty player, he’s probably the softest player in the whole league. I call him like my ‘butterfly’. But I hope he can recover quickly.”
On the win, Farke said he was delighted as Leeds bounced back from defeat at Bournemouth last weekend. He praised the spirit of his side, calling them ‘relentless’ in their search of a winner. Substitute Noah Okafor scored the decisive goal 11 minutes from time.
“Very happy. Against an in-form Tottenham side, I think the first half was a half of spirit. We were on the front foot, they were on the front foot. I think second half never in doubt. So we were pushing to win this game, missed a few chances, but we were relentless.
“And also as a team, after a difficult period and many key players missing out and short break, great spirit, great commitment, great unity today. And at the end, no doubt of the win and really happy.”
