Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday directed collectors of rain-affected districts to remain alert as rains were expected to continue on Thursday and Friday.
During a teleconference with the collectors, Naidu asked officials to immediately visit affected areas and address rain-related problems. He directed them to restore roads damaged by strong water flows if traffic was disrupted.
Naidu instructed officials to alert residents in landslide-prone areas and shift them to safer locations if necessary. He also stressed that there should be no disruption to power supply. Collectors were asked to set up control rooms and continuously gather information from the field.
The Chief Minister directed district administrations to focus on filling tanks while taking advance measures to prevent breaches. He asked officials to respond immediately to requests for assistance from the field and collect feedback from people through the Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) to assess the situation and address their concerns.
Naidu also directed officials to immediately remove trees that had fallen due to strong winds and ensure that transportation was not affected. He asked authorities to continuously assess the flood situation and take precautionary measures accordingly.
