"New York Gatka Association Shines Bright, Claiming the Overall Trophy at the 1st US National Gatka Championship!"
The New York Gatka Association triumphed at the 2nd US National Gatka Championship, held at The Sikh Center of New York Inc. This event was organized by the Gatka Federation USA, which aims to manage and promote the Gatka-Sikh martial art under the auspices of the World Gatka Federation.Kansas Gatka Association secured the runner-up position, while Texas Gatka Association took third place. The championship attracted over 125 participants from various State Gatka Associations and Akharas across the United States, showcasing a vibrant display of skills and enthusiasm.Notable figures at the opening and prize distribution ceremonies included Kalvinder Singh Fresno, President of Gatka Federation USA; Dr. Deep Singh, General Secretary of the World Gatka Federation; and Himmat Singh, Coordinator of the World Sikh Parliament. They acknowledged the hard work of volunteers who made the event a success and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting all State Gatka Associations.

Awards:
Harpreet Singh from Akal Gatka Gurmat Group was named Best Player in the men’s category, while Arshdeep Kaur from Guru Gobind Singh Academy received the same honor in the women’s category. The Texas Gatka Association earned the Fair Play Team Award, and Jashandeep Singh from Kansas won the Fair Play Individual Award.The judging panel included experienced referees from Canada and various states, ensuring a fair competition throughout the event. The successful organization of this championship highlights the growing popularity and support for Gatka in the United States.
