Hyderabad: Apollyon Dynamics, a defence technology start-up from the BITS-Pilani Hyderabad campus, has raised Rs 4 crore in a pre-seed round led by Naandi Ventures, with participation from founders across India’s private space sector, as the student-led firm moves to scale its unmanned aerial vehicle systems for defence use
The company has worked on high-speed UAVs, including systems capable of exceeding 300 kmph, built for surveillance and precision operations. Early demonstrations to defence stakeholders led to interest from the Indian Army soon after its inception.
The founders described their focus as “build fast, iterate faster, and deliver impactful solutions,” while outlining a broader goal “to remove humans as the first point of contact in any conflict; such that machines go first, humans come home.”
Investors in the round include Bharath Daka of Skyroot Aerospace; Sanjay Nekkanti, Abhay Egoor, Krishna Teja Penamakuru and Chaitanya Dora of Dhruva Space; Srinath Ravichandran of Agnikul Cosmos; and Satya Gopal of Constelli. Sanjay Nekkanti will join Apollyon Dynamics as board adviser.
Founded by Jayant Khatri and Sourya Choudhury, the start-up began operations in May 2025 and moved from early prototypes to field demonstrations within months. The team has grown to over 15 members, including engineers with seven to eight years of industry experience. The founders said the team came together around “mission-driven work and a shared commitment to building meaningful, real-world defence solutions,” rather than scale or stability at this stage.
Funds from the round will go into research and development to improve system performance and reliability, hiring engineers, and building in-house testing and manufacturing capabilities.
