The Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) opens ‘The Library’, a new literary and cultural destination bringing together books, food, conversations and shared experiences, on November 1.
The two-level space, opening on the birthday of NMACC Founder and Chairperson Nita Mukesh Ambani, features a collection of over 4,500 books from publishers across the world, covering genres such as fiction, children’s literature, art, design, history, culture, food and travel.
Visitors can browse and purchase books, enjoy food and beverages, and participate in literary activities, including storytelling sessions, spoken-word performances, author conversations and workshops.
The Library also houses the complete Amar Chitra Katha collection at an installation titled ‘Chariot of Wisdom’, bringing together stories from Indian mythology, history, literature and folk traditions.
Designed by architect and designer Ashiesh Shah, the space draws inspiration from traditional university libraries. Its interiors feature sculptural books, carved open-book tabletops, intimate alcoves and a circular coffee bar. A dedicated stage will host performances and cultural gatherings.
The food and beverage experience, co-created by the NMACC team and restaurateur Aditi Dugar, includes freshly baked breads, viennoiserie, brunch options, small plates, handcrafted chocolates, matcha, signature coffee blends and craft cocktails.
Located on the ground floor of NMACC at Gate 11, Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai, The Library is open to visitors from November 1, between 8.30 am and 11.30 pm. Books are available for both reading and purchase.
