Kim Kardashian’s teenage daughter North West has suddenly cancelled her first headline tour, sending her fans into a frenzy. The eldest child of Kim and Kanye West, 13, was supposed to be perform with influencer-turned-rapper, Molly Santana, for 14 nights across America, but now it’s all off.
North was set to kick off the eagerly-awaited Kimokawaii Tour with Molly, 21, on August 5 in Dallas, but the gigs have been scrapped just days before the teen was due on stage.
Ticketmaster shows that the August 17 date in Toronto has additionally been cancelled. According to another ticketing website AXS, the Los Angeles show that was scheduled on August 27 at The Novo has also been called off with no explanation.
After fans jumped on social media, expressing their disappointment, North took to Instagram to confirm the news – but offered no reason for the sudden cancellation. Taking to her Instagram stories on Thursday, she said: “I was really excited to go on tour with Molly Santana. Sadly it isn’t happening anymore but I have something special for you guys. See ya soon.”
Molly, who rose from fashion influencer to rap star with her 2021 EP, Molly’s World, also took to social media to confirm the tour was off.
Apologising to her fans, she wrote: “To everyone who bought tickets to the tour, I sincerely apologise. I know a lot of you have taken time out of your busy schedules and spent your hard earned money planning to be there. Nothing makes me more happy than the opportunity to share more amazing memories with you all and I hope to see you soon.”
Promising she would “make it up” to her followers, she signed off: “You are all so greatly appreciated and please know that I never take your time or support lightly. I love y’all so much and I promise I will make this one up to you.”
North and Molly had been set to perform across America in Houston, New York, Boston, Chicago, Phoenix and Atlanta.
The teenager, whose headline tour had been promoted by proud mum, Kim, on Instagram, is carving out a career for herself as a performer like her famous father.
In June, it was announced that she would be going on the 14-date tour with Molly. And in May, North dropped her debut EP titled N0rth4evr.
She also released a music video for the track showcasing her electric blue hair, face piercings and custom-made diamond shark teeth.
Famous from the moment she was born, North has also performed alongside Kanye, who now prefers to be known as Ye.
In January, the pair performed a surprise duet in Mexico City while North also joined the Jesus Walks star for his controversial comeback concerts in Los Angeles in April.
