‘Not Fair..’ Naga Chaitanya Takes Legal Help Over Claims He Cheated On Ex-Wife Samantha Ruth Prabhu

Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya were an ugly split, but as the two have settled with their respective partners, they are making sure to move on with respect. However, Chaitanya has always been subjected to content that trolls him and content that claimed that he had cheated on his ex-wife, Samantha, and tried to ruin her career. The actor took the legal route and sought the help of the Delhi High Court.

Naga Chaitanya moves to the Delhi High Court over the circulation of content claiming he cheated on his ex-wife

As we are living in the digital age, it becomes extremely tough to navigate what is true and what’s not. Amidst it, a fake claim by one person can lead to a lot of imbalance. And Chaitanya moved to the Delhi High Court to stop his name being used in content that claims he had cheated on his ex-wife. As per Chaitanya’s team, Justice Jyoti Singh heard the matter. Advocate Vaibhav Gaggar appeared for the actor and stated that many websites were using his name alongside explicit search terms to get traffic and circulate objectionable content. They even highlighted the usage of AI-generated and manipulated content, as well as defamatory material, talking about the actor’s personal life. He also highlighted that content portraying him and Samantha claimed that he had cheated on her and destroyed her career. The advocate called it trolling and not fair criticism. He argued:

“This is trolling, this is not fair criticism.”

They further claimed that the usage of AI tools, deepfake technology and voice-cloaking software has been used to fabricate audiovisual content for commercial gains. It has caused serious harm to Chaitanya’s reputation. Videos defaming the actor were also flagged in court, while some links were removed.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu was once madly in love with Naga Chaitanya. After a decade of being in love with him, followed by four years of marital bliss, it turned into a tragic story after they parted ways just four days before their fourth wedding anniversary. While Naga Chaitanya chose silence to deal with the murmurs and speculations, Samantha decided to express her emotions and hurt openly in public.

Samantha and Naga first met while shooting for the film, Ye Maaya Chesave. It marked the actress’ debut film, and she even met the man of her dreams, Naga Chaitanya. Soon, their love bloomed after seven years of togetherness, and they tied the knot in 2017. However, in 2021, they announced their separation, leaving their fans heartbroken. After which, the ex-couple maintained a dignified distance. While Samantha expressed her hurt in many interviews, Naga Chaitanya did not even once say anything ill about his once lady love. 

Samantha always expressed hurt over her separation and, in a way, called it a not amicable one. There have been reports that she took huge alimony, but she later debunked it by clearly stating she had not even taken a penny from her ex-husband. Earlier this year, Naga Chaitanya talked about his divorce from Samantha in a podcast, Raw Talks With VK. Without sharing many details about their separation, he said:

“It was for the betterment of whoever was involved in the marriage… Whatever the decision was, it was a very conscious decision after much thought and with a lot of respect for the other person. I’m saying this because it’s a very sensitive topic for me. I come from a broken family. I’m a child from a broken family so I know what the experience is like. I will think 1000 times before breaking a relationship because I know the repercussions… It was a mutual decision.”
