Directed by Olivia Wilde, The Invite is a sharp, closely observed drama about the quiet tensions beneath modern relationships, the things people want, avoid, and misread in one another. Wilde directs and stars in the film alongside Seth Rogen, Penélope Cruz, and Edward Norton.
Where many relationship films lean into earnestness, The Invite goes further than that. It is funny in moments, uneasy in others, and emotionally honest throughout. It’s a character-led ensemble that doesn’t rush toward answers, instead letting its dynamics.

Speaking about taking on the role of Angela, Olivia Wilde opened up about the hesitation she initially felt in casting herself alongside such an accomplished ensemble. “I would never have thought that I could play Angela with this group of actors,” Wilde says. “I don’t think I would have thought I was up to par. Edward really is the one who, as an actor-director himself, gave me the confidence to do it.” Wilde shared how Edward Norton’s encouragement gave her the confidence to step in front of the camera and bring Angela to life.

Visionary filmmaker Olivia Wilde presents a powerful relationship drama, The Invite, brought to India by PVRINOX Pictures, and set to release across theatres in India on 10th July, 2026.
